Pomona ATV and Motorcycle ride area is located 28 miles South of Topeka on Highway 75. Lyndon is located 3 miles south of Pomona on Highway 75. Pomona is a gated private club ride area; you must be a KATVA member to ride at Pomona. Due to insurance reasons we do not allow three wheelers at Pomona. The KATVA leased Pomona from the Corps of Engineers in 1990. We currently have 115 acres of trails. The trails are for the most part fairly easy. There some harder trails for the more experienced, as well as easier trails for children. There is a creek that runs though the Pomona ride area. It is usually low enough to ride an ATV through it. We have a shelter house that may be used by all members, a fire pit with benches for those cool nights. There are 17 campsites with electric hookups hard surface areas for tow vehicle parking. There is a playground as well as a children’s ride area close in proximity to the campgrounds. No ATV’s or Motorcycles over 200cc allowed in the children’s ride area. The campgrounds are well treed that makes for some great shade. KATVA has always made riding safety the number one priority of the club. You are required to wear a helmet. We strongly suggest gloves, goggles, long sleeves and pants as well as over the ankle boots. Double riding is not allowed. There is no water on the premises. We do have an outhouse. There is an extra camping facility with showers, dump-station and propane approximately 1 mile south of the ride area. We are currently working on a Grant from the Federal Government to hook water up to the campgrounds. This will make a huge improvement to the KATVA club campgrounds and trails. The KATVA have monthly meetings. They are held the second Tuesday of every month at 7:00 p.m.in Lenexa, at 11217 Strang Line Road . We encourage you to come out to a meeting. Another priority of the KATVA is Family Fun with Safety Number One. We are a family orientated club. We usually plan a campout at Pomona for every holiday weekend. Memorial Day weekend, Forth of July weekend, Labor Day weekend, and we also have a Halloween campout. These are very fun weekends not to mention the other weekends we camp at Pomona. We also plan other club rides together. We have been to Chadwick, Little Sahara, Deep Water, St. Joe State Park and Colorado. If you join the KATVA you are guaranteed you will meet some great people that enjoy the same sport as you.
